ATTRACTIONS

🏖️ World-Class Beaches
  • Magens Bay: Often cited as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It’s a heart-shaped bay with calm, turquoise waters—perfect for swimming.
  • Coki Point Beach: The go-to spot for snorkeling right off the shore. It’s lively, has great food vendors nearby, and is right next to Coral World.
  • Sapphire Beach: Known for its stunning views of St. John and the British Virgin Islands. It offers excellent windsurfing and snorkeling.
  • Lindquist Beach (Smith Bay Park): A more pristine, "locals" favorite. It’s part of a protected park, so it's quieter and less developed than Magens.
  • Brewers Bay: Located near the university; it’s one of the best spots to see sea turtles in the wild.
🏛️ History & Culture (Charlotte Amalie)
  • Fort Christian: The oldest standing structure in the U.S. Virgin Islands (built in the 1670s). It’s a bright red landmark that now serves as a museum.
  • The 99 Steps: One of the island's most famous photo ops. These "step-streets" were built by the Danes to navigate the steep hills of the city.
  • Blackbeard’s Castle: Located at the top of the 99 Steps, this 17th-century Danish watchtower offers panoramic views (check for seasonal reopening updates).
  • St. Thomas Synagogue: One of the oldest synagogues in the Western Hemisphere, famous for its unique sand floors.
  • Pirates Treasure Museum: An interactive museum featuring authentic shipwreck artifacts and pirate lore.
🔭 Sightseeing & Views
  • Drake’s Seat: A famous lookout point where Sir Francis Drake allegedly watched for enemy ships. It offers the iconic overhead view of Magens Bay.
  • Mountain Top: The highest point on the island. It’s a massive souvenir shop and bar famous for inventing the Banana Daiquiri. The view from the back deck is breathtaking.
  • Skyride to Paradise Point: An aerial tramway that takes you 700 feet above the harbor. Great for sunset drinks and watching the cruise ships depart.
🐟 Adventure & Nature
  • Coral World Ocean Park: An "open-water" aquarium where you can do a Sea Trek helmet dive, swim with dolphins, or visit the underwater observatory.
  • Mangrove Lagoon: Best explored via a kayak and snorkel tour. You can navigate through winding waterways and see juvenile reef life.
  • Hassel Island: A small island in the harbor accessible by water taxi, perfect for hiking through military ruins and old shipyards.
